Joya Update

biped...."We thought that you might want an update on Joya's progress, or regress. She still likes her dog and me, but absolutely hates all the other kitties. This is after being in the house for about two weeks. She has a not too good trait of going postal (or would that be hisstal" in a split second if something or someone scares her. I might mention that just about everything including a flushing toilet scares her."

biped...."She spends most of her time in the spare bedroom which actually seems to please her. She comes out when everyone takes their afternoon nap on grandma's bed and plays a little and then back to her room she goes. It's a nice room with a bird's eye view of the squirrels and turkies."

biped...."We've debated taking her back but don't think she'd be that adoptable. We can invision the sign on her cage
....Adult miniture ozark mountain cat
has a few missing teeth.
Hates all cats,
only likes 1 particular white dog,
tends to bite slow moving people when scared,
can change from love bug to Kujo in 2 seconds"

heesh....."Did you see what da biped typed about JOya?"
sheesh...."Yeah sounds familar."
heesh...."If it said something about being over weight it might be a discription of da biped."
sheesh...."Hmmmm, you've got something there."
heesh...."Maybe we could buy them a bottle of Midol."
sheesh..."Yeah and lace it with prozac."

We hope Joya comes around. It took Sniffie forever to get used to Ellie and Allie (and she would still like to sell them on Ebay!)

Heesh and Sheesh, you're cracking us up! We hope Joya comes around too. These things take time though. Glogirly says that me and Joya have a lot in common. Sometimes she even calls me Kujo.

Poor Joya! It might just take more time for her to learn how to trust. Heaven knows what she went through before she came to you.

She's likely been traumatized somehow if she's that sensitive to noises. Poor little thing!

Give her sometime. Fiona is still afraid sometimes when she hears a noise that is not familiar with. She runs upstairs and hides which works out fine for me. It takes time to build lasting relationships so give her a chance. She needs all of you!

We hope Joya will come around soon...she sounds like our Zoey...who still hates Wally and has to be kept separated from him....

Well, I still hiss and growl and Harley when he irritates me. All the time!

We still have growl and hiss sessions after almost a year. Mom just threatened to put Kirby in time out. We hope Joya will come around soon!

Our Nigel took 4 months to come out of his spare room he was so frightened. Prozac and time helped a lot. He was tapered off the drugs and now he's a regular member of the family. He still gets a bit freaked out once in awhile, but he's 98% settled. He's been here 10 months!

We hopes Joya will settle in. At least she likes the doggie. None of my cats like me. I loves them though. ~Fenris

PS: We likes Fenris, but we don't likes him to close. I mean have you seen how tall he is and he is still a puppy and clumsy. What if he stepped on US. ~Socks & Scylla

joya sounds just like xing lu--she still stays in her own room if mom or dad isn't there to "perteck" her. an' if a sparrow sneezes ofur inna next block, she jumps a mile. we has tried bach flower remedies an' feliway, an' din't none of 'em work, so we just agrees to disagree. luff her all you can, though--she needs it more'n most! you were furry kind an' thoughtful not to return her.
