Spring Dreams

ollie...."Let the brat out of da sewing room. She should keep da biped distracted."
Heesh...." Dumb and Dumber get da plastic cards out of da biped's purse. And don't eat them this time!"

ollie.... "We gotta type "free garden cataloges in da search window. When you push enter you get a whole list of places to buy seeds and plants."

ollie..."Here's one dat has food."

heesh..."We don't want food. We want Nip plants."

ollie..."Lets try this Mountain Valley Growers. Da biped used to buy their plants when she lived in California. They are a really good nursery."

heesh...."Yeah but do they have nip?"

ollie...."OMC! Look at dis. I can almost smell it."

heesh...."Which one will we get?"

ollie...."Lets buy them all!

ollie...."Look at this! It's a lion's tail! Dis is one of da biped's favorite herbs. "

heesh...."We'd better order quick or we'll get caught and spoil da surprise."

ps....We didn't really order da nip plants because they would freeze. But we did have the biped email da nice peoples to make sure they'll hold a couple of the Lion Tails for us. We also suggest dat you have your bean's check out da website because it has TONS of information on all kinds of herbs. Also if your beans like Lavender these people probably have the biggest variety of lavender plants on da whole planet."

That looks like a cool site. We're going to send Mom over to check it out. What does your Mom use the Lion's tail for? Mom read that it attracts butterflies and we have a butterfly garden.

Sure wish it was spring! We don't have a garden, but I'm going to have Glogirly grow me some container nip.

The lion's tail is a perenial. The first year a baby plant will grow to about three feet tall. The picture doesn't show the neatest feature. The flower stems have those orange flowers all the way up, thus making the "tail". I could show a picture on "Tail Monday" I would describe it as an orange spike with the stem going thru the center of each blossom and then continuing on to form another blossom.
If you have milder winters, where it only gets down to like 20 degrees once in a while the plant comes back. Here where the ground freezes solid it becomes an annual plant but it does restart easily from seeds that you've saved.

On the down side, it is an old hippie plant and if smoked it is a hallucinagin. We just love it because of its gorgeous flowers
