Sunday in da Ozarks

ollie...."Hey biped! What do squirrels like to eat?"

biped...."Oh, they like corn, sunflower seeds, peanuts and stolen bird seed."

ollie...."Do they eat metal?"

biped...."No Silly, they don't eat metal."

ollie...."If they don't eat metal, then why is the corner missing on the new bird feeder?"

.....sound of door slamming and giggling kitties...

"annie...."Why does she have the new bird feeder balanced on the pointy end of the rake?"

ollie....."Cuz she's trying to hang it on the squirrel proof bird feeder pole."

annie...."Poor thing is too short to reach the hanger thingie?

ollie...."Yikes, it looks kinda dangerous."

annie...."Thank God she got it hooked. Maybe next time she could get the squirrels to just carry it up there for her."

Finally Friday

heesh....."Mom finally put the new cover on our futon and then opened the box where our Morgan Bed
was in. Besides a super nice, cushy bed, Morgan's bean puts in a whole passel of nip and toys. Ollie really likes nip."

heesh...."The Morgan Nip comes in a very sturdy fabric pouch. If you're really lucky you'll get pirate nip. We think that Morgan brought it back with him from one of his expeditions."

heesh....."Uh Oh! Looks like someone else likes nip."

heesh...."Good thing he's in a nipcoma or he'd be having a hissy fit."

Thankful Thursday

annie...."da biped's been really good at filling the bird feeders. She also scatters corn and sunflower seeds on the ground. She says its to make sure that even the squirrels have food. We know that the biped is fibbing. She puts the corn on the ground in hopes to keep the squirrels out of the bird feeders.

annie...."This is our new squirrel proof bird feeder. We always giggle when da biped comes in wif a new feeder. She always has a big smile on her face and you can bet sum time during putting it together she says to grandma!"

biped...."This looks like a good'un. No exposed wires or springs for them to chew or unhook."

annie...."and then Grandma smiles. If she's in a particularly feisty mood she may say."

grandma...."Sure hope you're right cuz the porch is looking a bit tacky wif all the broken bird feeders laying around."

annie...."If anyone might want to bet wif grandma if da squirrels break the new feeder, we might mention dat she only bets on sure things. We should mention that Pudgy the squirrel was chewing on the corner this morning and that there are at least eight derelict feeders on the front porch. Of course da biped's going to fix them any day now."

annie...."We like this little bird. He's really friendly and comes down and talks to da biped while she fills the feeders."

annie...."These are our doves. We counted over 20 of them today."

Wordless Wednesday

biped...."Thank goodness it's wordless Wednesday. I don't have to think up something cute to go with this picture. "

biped..."As if I could. I think this one is best left to Wendy's Lol."

Traveling Tuesday

heesh...."It's travel day for da biped. So beware she's going to be grouchy cuz she has to get up early. Is she going to buy us huge bags of Temptashuns wif her green papers? Of course not. She went and spent dem on another TV. She'd better spend a couple green papers on duct tape cuz Annie da Destroyer is going to be really pissed when she doesn't see a mound of Temptashuns stored in dat big box."

It's Christmas!

biped...."It was July, a little after the 4th. I was living in Fresno California the closest place to hell that you could possibly be without actually being dead, when my next door neighbor Cherl must of suffered a heat stroke cuz she decided to bake cookies. It was 105 outside and 98 inside her single wide trailer. There was no such thing as central air back then. So with her 3 year old napping she mixed up a batch of chocolate chip cookies. Well they would of been chocolate chip if the chips hadn't melted before they got into the batter. Undaunted we proceeded to bake as the temperature in the kitchen creeped up till it actually matched the outside. Just as we took the last pan out of the oven the baby wandered into the kitchen. A big smile formed on her sleepy little face and she started twirling in circles, jumping up and down."

baby Diana....."Oh My! Oh MY! It's Christmas! We have cookies, it must be Christmas."

biped..."On the way over to my cool (95 degree) trailer my friend Cheryl says to me."

Cheryl..."Quess I really should make cookies more often."
